The Second Component of Love:

Emotion

Emotion is the most obvious of the five components of love. Yet, while it might be obvious, it doesn’t come easy for some people. When we love, care for, respect, or appreciate people, these are things that need to be expressed. Far too many things go unsaid in relationships. As we are learning love, one of the skills is to increase our vulnerability and let our feelings be known.

It seems that people can be quick to express their displeasure. Complaints, gripes, and annoyances are openly stated, but it is equally important to express the positive emotions and build up those we love.

Kind words, small gestures, little favors, and thoughtful gifts make a huge difference in the connections we experience. With a little thought and effort, it can be a daily part of relationships, forming the connections we all want in life.
